Soul Whispers

Encounters with the Unconscious, Guides, Synchronicity, and Other Mysteries

About the Book

A Memoir by JD Townsend

Soul Whispers is a deeply personal memoir and compelling exploration of the invisible forces that shape our lives. Drawing from decades of profound encounters with synchronicity, spiritual guides, and the mysterious workings of the unconscious mind, the author takes readers on a journey bridging the gap between the seen and unseen worlds.

Soul Whispers invites readers to examine their own lives with fresh curiosity and to consider that beneath the visible story of every life may exist a quieter wisdom patiently guiding us toward compassion, wholeness, and belonging.

J.D. Townsend is the author of the futuristic thriller, The Assassin's Dream, and a ghostwriter for other books and blogs. He is a rock and roll drummer, a former member of a religious cult, former steel-truck driver and seafood salesman, and was a Washington, D.C. journalist for 18 years. He lives in Colorado.

Soul Whispers Reviews

“James Townsend is a deeply metaphysical thinker very much in touch with the subconscious side of life, so it's no surprise that Soul Whispers is a thoughtful exploration for anyone drawn to understand the hidden forces that shape our lives.”
Mark Stevens author of Two Truths and a Lie
"Soul Whispers is the work of a gentle and insightful soul who has spent his life paying attention to the whispers that have quietly guided his path. This book offers a powerful reminder that wisdom, meaning, and support often arrive in unexpected ways—if we're willing to pay attention."
Shari Caudron Author of The Second Story
"J.D. Townsend is a great rock 'n' roll drummer who has lived an epic life, which is only one facet of this richly spiritual and heavily philosophical memoir about searching for guidance as an 'archeologist of the soul.' Highly recommended for all fellow seekers."
Steve Knopper Contributor to The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Rolling Stone
"Soul Whispers is a rare and quietly extraordinary book. With the precision of a journalist and the open heart of a mystic, J.D. Townsend excavates the invisible forces that have shaped a remarkable life: the childhood companions who never quite left, the dreams that arrived at exactly the right moment, the whispers from somewhere just beyond the edge of understanding...
Richard Osman Author of The Impossible Fortune
...This is not a book about belief. It is a book about paying attention. And in an age of noise, that is perhaps the most radical thing a writer can do. I finished it feeling less alone in the universe."
